40-Hour HAZWOPER Training Course with GHS Communication.

 

29 CFR 1910.120

This course covers the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) standard. The HAZWOPER standard for General Industry is outlined in 29 CFR 1910.120. The HAZWOPER standard for the construction industry, 29 CFR 1926.65, is identical to 29 CFR 1910.120 for general industry. No employee may perform hazardous waste operations unless they have been trained to the level required by their job function and responsibility. This course has been specifically designed for workers who are involved in clean-up operations, voluntary clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. 

Course topics include: regulations overview; safety & health plans; site characterization; chemical awareness; site control; medical surveillance; material sampling; confined spaces; excavation; emergency procedures; properties of hazardous substances, evaluation of Safety Data Sheets, hazardous recognition and incident prevention, selection, use and care of personal protective equipment, site safety and health responsibilities, emergency response planning and spill containment, decontamination methods, safe work practices and more. 

“Hands-On” Training Includes: respiratory equipment (half & fullface mask w/cartridges & filters, PAPR, airline & SCBA), clothing ensembles (A, B, C & D), foot, face & hand protection, air monitoring (single & multi-gas monitors), portable ventilation, rescue & retrieval equipment, etc. Hands-on experience is an essential part of the course.
